Show Notes

In this episode, Susan Lubell and Paul Daoust discuss the capabilities of the organization in the context of asset management.

What is competence? What is a competency framework? It can be defined as 1) tested knowledge, 2) applied skills, and 3) work experience coupled with resource capacity and practice quality.

We discuss competency for the new and emerging profession of formal asset management. We explain the difference between knowledge-based certificates and competency-based certifications highlighting the recently launched Global Credential Scheme (GCS) offered by World Partners in Asset Management (WPiAM).

We talk about leadership competencies and expectations for continuing professional development for their asset management staff. It all comes together where the product is more than the sum of its parts when capable multi-disciplined individuals work together in a high-performance team to deliver superior value.
